Y. 90.4 Proof T "jr! c We are making plans for a semi-annu- e al audit of the subscription list of the Mill- ard County Chronicle. These audits will come the first week in March and Septem- 1 ber of each year. : I Our first audit will be on March 2 1944, and published in the Chronicle of March 8. . J On March 2 we will make a count of the number of subscriptions of the Chronicle, e breaking it down to show where the pa- pers go, how many, and whether the sub- scription is paid up or not. " Nationally the practice it to NOT offic- 6 ially credit subscriptions which are in err- rears as being bonafide subscribers to a publication, so it is our desire to eliminate as many of these subscriptions in arrears n as possible. Two methods are open for us i, to use; either we can stop the paper, or the subscriber can pay his subscription. We 0 t-rK are much in favor of the latter method. F v'i Paper Shortage. 1 There is an acute paper shortage at the present time, and it does not look as though it will become any better in the future. It seems to us that in view of this shortage the sensible and patriotic thing to do is to stop sending any papers to subscribers in arrears. Look at Your Date Line. Under your address on the Chronicle is the expiration date of your paper. Please look af it, and if it is past due,, or close to becoming due, renew it at an early date. This will save us a lot of work, conserve paper, pa-per, and will also avoid the embarassment to both of us when we are forced to "cut off" a subscriber.
