Show H. H. S. Parents' Day Scheduled for March 1 Arthur Gaeth, well known news commentator, will be the guest speaker at the Hinckley High School Annual Parents Day. which is scheduled to be held on Wednesday, Wednes-day, March 1. As has been the custom in the past the parents will attend school instead of the students. Parents from out of town will ride the busses bus-ses to the High School on that day. A full day's schedule has been arranged by Chairman Barton, and committee members Harriet Spend-love, Spend-love, Ladd Cropper and Bina Ekins. The schedule includes registration at 10 o'clock a welcome assembly in the High School Auditorium; at 11:45 classes for parents to attend, Bernice Hepworth will teach a class in "personal bookkeeping;" Miss DeLappe will offer a class in "Spring Cleaning Hints" and John Barton will lead a class discussion in "vocational agriculture." At 11.-30 11.-30 classes will continue with Mrs. Phyllis Bennett teaching "Roads to Berlin." Lowell Bennett, "biology" and Mrs. LaVel! Johnson, "everyday "every-day English." At 12:15 Ladd Cropper Crop-per will teach a class in "character education" Seminary. Mrs. Harriet Har-riet Spendlove will teach a class in "Adult Guidance in Reading," and Joseph Buchanan will conduct a class entitled "recreational lead ership. From 1 to 2 lunch will be served at the school. At 2 p. m, the main assembly featuring news commentator, Arthur Ar-thur Gaeth, will be held in the high school auditorium. He is well known througout the West for his keen interpretation of the war happenings, especially in Europe where he spent several years as a missionary and student. Mr. Gaeth is well qualified to talk on current issues and will undoubtedly draw a large crowd in the afternoon from all parts of the county. The last event of the day will be a matinee dance for the parents par-ents from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. Adults from all the communities are extended an invitation to attend at-tend the full day next Wednesday whether they have students in the school or not. |
