Show State House Days May 30-31 Marks Centennial Year " All Millard county and hundreds i former residents are expected in Hlln.ore May 30 and 31, for the ,tennial celebration, Statehouse nivs This is the largest county- je celebration ever to be staged i- Fillmore. A cordial invitation is extended everyone to come to Fillmore r state House Days. There will be no aamissiu" -.ia.6C "j entertainment. Everything is free. Fillmore City's new modern street lighting system will be turned tur-ned on officially the evening of lay 30, and in honor of the occasion oc-casion Fillmore will sponsor a free dance vyith an especially good orchestra. or-chestra. Memorial Day, first day of the celebration, services will be held I ,a, the Fillmore cemetery, under ( direction of the American Legion, R N. Day, commander. There will be a program in the park east of the state house at 3:30 and at 4 p. m. the, art museum on the top floor of the state house will be opened to the public for the first time. On May 31 the day opens with the historical pioneer parade, mark ing 100 years o' Millard history. The program at 11 a. m. will be in the MHS auditorium. At 3:30 p. m. open house will be held. At 7:30 P- m. the centennial pageant, "Up to the Sacred Mountains", Moun-tains", written and directed by Frank Rasmussen, will be presented, present-ed, along with music by the civic chorus. This is also in the MHS auditorium. And at 9 p. m. there will be a dance in the Armory, under un-der direction of John and Ilene ! Cooper. Square dancing will be featured, with a professional caller, cal-ler, and requested attire will be pioneer, western or Indian cost -umes. |
