The election returns w Millard County - The entire Republican ticket elected with the exception of the county attorney - - full returns re-turns may slightly change the result re-sult - - Democratic Gains in the East - - so say the headlines from the Millard County ' Chronicle of Nov. 10, 1910. And so, Republians taking office of-fice were Howell for Congress, Straup of Justice of the Supreme Court, Jacob H. Langston, Representative Repres-entative 19th district, Robert E. Robinson, commissioner 4year term Nephi Anderson, county clerk, Jen nie Ashby, county recorder, John Cooper, county treasurer, Leslie George, county assessor.P. T. Black county sheriff, Alonzo Huntsman, superintendent o' Schools, and T. Clark Callister, county surveyor. 1 Democratic candidate won, Robert Rob-ert W. King, county attorney. Oasis The speakers at Sunday meeting were C. O. Pierson, Thomas G. Reid and B. H. Pederson. Their talk was brief and to the point and they gave some very good instructions. Leamington Mr. Fred Nielson has made his final trip to Mammoth and returned return-ed last Saturday with his bride and a load of furniture. They were given a rousing reception, after which the crowd had an oyster sup per at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Wells Nielson. The Millard Stake Quarterly con ference was held in Deseert commencing com-mencing with the Stake Relief Soc iety, which was held in their hall, and was attended by a number of local and visiting members and officers. We have had the most pleasant weather during the past week and this, added to the enjoyment of those that attended conference. Election passed good naturedly and quietly on Tuesday. j Academy Notes Thursday at the academy an entertainment en-tertainment was given in honor of the Indian War Veterans. The following were present: Virgil Kelly, Kel-ly, W. V. Black., T. W. Cropper, J. J W. Damron, James V. Knight, F. T. Slaughter, George Theobald, A. S. , Wofkman, H. F. Stout, T. B. Allred, Sr., Bishop W. F. Pratt and J. W. I Hutchinson. Several o' the veter- ans spoke reminiscently and sang campaign songs, as well as giving the Indian dance. One feature of the program was the rendering of the Old Farm Gate, by the dou-ble dou-ble quartette of the Academy. ( Oak City Dutson & Roper opened their big store on Main street on Monday. It is a credit to Oak City and the people of Millard county. You are invited to pay them a visit. I . : |
