After dinner, was played, with high score aw-ards going to Mrs. Robinson and Mrs. Nell Callister, and Mrs. Hun-sak-the low score. .Delta Art Club Is luitertnined The Delta Art Club was enter-tained on Thursday night, with Mrs. Athena B. Cook as hostess. D'.nner was served to Violet Snow, Callie M jrfey, Romania Bird, Li Paco, C.ilne Morrison, Nell Callist-er Amelia Coie. Alma Petersen and Donna Sorenson, club members, and Mrs. Wanda Beckwilh, Mrs. Mary S. Beckwilh and Mrs. Helen Baker, guests. Bridge was played later, at which Mrs. Callister and Mrs. Morrison held high scores and Mrs. Petersen the low. Leland R. Hunsaker, USN, of Del-ta, Utah, has been advanced to machine accountant, third class, as the result of recent Navy-wid- e competitive examinations. He is ser ving with Flag Administrative Un-it of the Commander, Air Force, Pacific Fleet, with headquarters at San Diego, Cal. Promotions In rate were awarded in an oppropriate ceremony at San Diego. Advancements are given on the basis o test scores, conscientious hard work and resourcefulness. Joins LDS Unit At ISicks College One stucient trom Delta has joined the Lamba Delta Sigma. lie is Winston Christensen, son of Mr. and Mrs. Evan Christensen o'i Del-f- a, a.id is majoring in business and social science. He is a sopho-more at Ricks College. Mr. Christensen joined the Gam-ma Beta chapter of the Lamba Delta Sigma organization at Ricks College. This organization is a social-religio- organization that is found on the campus of sixteen colleges and universities in West-ern America. It consists of seven chapters - - four women's chapters two men's chapters and a chapter for married students. The chapters act as individual units, but as a part of the fraternity as a whole. Mr. and Mrs. Spencer Wright and Mr. and Mrs. Earl Dorius, of Salt Lake, will spend this weekend at Lake Meade, for the boat races. Leamington Mrs. Pearl Nelson Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Dutson have had all their children home! visiting and hunting. Mr. and Mrs. John Holmquist, Mr. and Mrs. Dene' Dutson and Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Walsh, from Salt Lake, Mr. and Mrs. Gene Dutson from Provo, and Mrs. and Mrs. Clayton Tousley of San Francisco. Mr. and Mrs. Austin Willden were down to hunt and visit with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ben Lov-el- l. Mrs. Claude McGuire and daugh- ter have been visiting the past week with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. M. C. Dutson. Mr. McGuire and Helmer Soderquist were down to hunt. Mr. Rosengreen and son, Robert came down to hunt and visited over the week end with Mr. and Mrs. Jos. T. Flnlinson. Dean Harder has gone to Spok-ane, Washington to get his wife, and daughter who have been vis-iting there for the last three weeks Dick Nielson was kicked by a horse while deer hunting and has been on crutches 'lor a week. Five I)eUans Are Initiated Five Delta students have been initiated into fraternites at BAC during the fall quarter, 10 Hn"y J. according Plummer, registrar. Gary Turner and Bob Hortin were rushed by the Gamma Pse 'Upsilon. Mark Harris, Joe Bishop and Rex Claridge are now active Iota Iotas. Fraternities and sororities on the BAC campus are not affiliated with nationargroups. The prohib- itive' expense and the traditional "snobbery" of the national groups is avoided by having local groups only, Profesor Plummer stated. Only two campus organizations, the Sours and the Intercollegiate Knights are nationally affiliated. These are service organizations. Each of the campus organizat-ions have adopted several pro - jects for the year, either sponsor-ing of dances and other social ev- - ents, or services to the college as a whole.
