Show Oasis M La Veda Bishop Monday afternoon the community commun-ity of Oasis got a first rate s Ur-ring Ur-ring up. Mrs. Huff was spring clelning around her premises, and in burning .the weeds the fire go out of control. The "'afte ran to the rescue but until after the Delta Fire uepi. gave a hand, the flames were mak ing headway and threatened to sweep the entire block. Only the fact that breeze kept changing m stead of blowing a steady gale, saved Leo Day's corrals, home the store, the post office, and Peck Kelly's buildings. Inez Kelly's chickens got a real warming up, so warm in fact that they did a lot of complaining. Now if they lay hard boiled eggs we won't be surprised. Mr Arlyn Styler from Bountiful visited his parents, Mrs. and Mrs J Val Styler from Tuesday until Thursday of last week. His son, Lynn has spent the past month with his grandparents, returned home With him Thursday. Mr and Mrs. David Nichols and family attended the funeral services ser-vices last Thursday of Mrs. Eliza- beth Stewart in Meadow. Mrs. Ella Christensen accompanied accompan-ied her daughter Vera Stevens to the Salt Lake City hospital last Thursday where Vera entered the hospital for an-operation. The returned re-turned home Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Stanworth and family went to Salt Lake last Saturday Sat-urday where they purchased a new car. They stopped in Mapleton and visited over Sunday and return ed home Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Lovell, Mr. and Mrs. Deon Gillen and Enoch Gillen attended the farewell party in Oak City Saturday night, which was in honor of Clead Lovell, who is leaving (or a mission shortly. The auction sale last Wednesday Wednes-day night was a big success. They club took in more than a hundred dollars. This will be used in landscaping land-scaping the church yard. Fred and Ervin Skeem went to Cedar City last Friday to see their best girls. They returned home Sun day. Mrs. Betsy Skeem and Mrs. Nor-Skeem Nor-Skeem spent Tuesday in Lynndyl visiting Mr. and Mrs. Thurlo Wiley. Mrs. Inga Peterson has been on the sick list for the past week. Latest report is that she is feeling some better. Last Sunday evening high Councilman Coun-cilman George Anderson, Bishop John Fullmer and a returned missionary mis-sionary Elder Lovell were the spea kers. Tuesday evening Elder Gordon Moody gave a talk and showed pictures and a movie on his experiences exper-iences and travells in South America. |
