Show Services Held For Matron At Lynndyl Monday Mrs. Leda Finlinson Greathouse, wife of Earl Greathouse, of Lynndyl, Lynn-dyl, died Thursday of last week of a cerebral hemorrhage. She was attending a textile painting class when she was stricken, and died later at 6 p.m. Mrs. Greathouse was born August Aug-ust 16, 1900 in Oak City, a daughter daugh-ter of William Jeff and the late Mary Walker Finlinson. She was graduated from the academy at Hinckley, and Brigham Young University, Uni-versity, and then taught school, first in Wallsburg, Utah, and later at Hinckley and Delta. She was married to Mr. Great-house Great-house May 28, 1930, in the Manti . temple, and their home was made at Lynndyl. A life-long member of the LDS church, Mrs. Greathouse had always been active in church works. She was former stake Relief Re-lief Society board member, and was organist for the Relief Society Soci-ety in Lynndyl ward. She had served ser-ved as visiting teacher and class leader, primary teacher and Sunday Sun-day school teacher. She had devoted de-voted much time to community and civic projects, always willing to give her aid toward public welfare. wel-fare. She was secretary of the Central Cen-tral Utah Water Company at the time of her death. She is survived by her husband, and a son, Don Earl, and daughter, daugh-ter, VonaLue, all of Lynndyl; her father, at Leamington, three brothers, bro-thers, Welby and Walker Finlinson Finlin-son of Leamington, and George Theon, of Grand Junction, Colo.; three sisters, Mrs. Marie Walker, Pocatello, Idaho; Mrs. Afton Oborn of Eureka, and Mrs. Norda Gardner Gard-ner of Layton. I Funeral services were held in j Lynndyl ward Monday at 1 p.m., by Bishop Clead Nielson. The opening open-ing prayer was offered by Alma Banks. Prelude and postlude music mu-sic was played by Mrs. Norma Hannifin, violinist. The Oak City ' choir sang three numbers during the services, Eldon Sorenson sang a solo, ."Going Home," and the ! Lynndyl Singing Mothers sang "In the Garden." Laurel Anderson was accompanist. j i Speakers were Mrs. Luella Har- j : ris Smith, who was a missionary ' companion of Mrs. Greathouse in j the northwestern states; Mrs. Mary Bassett, Mrs Rhea Whatcott, and i Joseph T. Finlinson. They told of the fine qualities exemplified in j the life of Mrs. Greathouse, kind, unselfish, and giving a lifetime of service in helping others. She was guided by high ideals, and leaves a legacy of fine thoughts to all who knew her. ' The services concluded with re- j marks by Bishop Nielson, and bene j diction by Lile Johnson. Burial under the direction of L. N. Nickle and sons, was in the cemetery at Provo, where the grave was dedicated dedi-cated by Rulon Sanders of Salt Lake City. |
