Show Mining Man Dies While Moving To Live At Delta Olaf Hans Hagbert, 73, died on Wednesday, April 13, while moving mov-ing to Delta to be close to his work. He had charge of construction construc-tion of a mill at a mine in Amasa valley, and had been in Delta earlier, making arrangements to move here to live. He was bringing bring-ing in some equipment and a truck load of household furniture for a home he had rented when he died. With him at the time were his wife, Mrs. Hildur Hagberg and his mining partner. They were riding in the cab of the truck and Mr. Hagberg was riding on back with the load, where he had a platform rocker for a seat. They were driving driv-ing from Tooele, where Mr. Hagberg Hag-berg had lived since 1945, to Delta, by way of Tintic, Eureka and Lynndyl. Several stops were made to see how Mr. Hagberg was faring, far-ing, and he was apparently comfortable. com-fortable. At one stop, north of Lynndyl, they found him dead. He had been ill the night before, but had not thought it was serious. seri-ous. The body was brought on to Delta, where L. N. Nickle and sons directed funeral arrangements. Mr. Hagberg was born April 26, 1876 at Ostersun, Sweden. He was a naturalized citizen of the United States. He had lived at Grant's Pass, Oregon, before moving to Tooele county, where he worked at Bauer. Surviving are his widow, and two sons, Louis and Harry Hagberg Hag-berg of Grant's Pass. The body was taken to Grant's Pass, where funeral services were held Mon- day afternoon. Burial was in the cemetery there. |
