Show I Dodge Introduces Mew Trucks Among the 248 basic gross vehicle weight chassis models just announced in the new Dodge "Job-Rated" truck line is this B-l-H tractor of 128-inch wheelbase, 15,500 pounds gross vehicle weight (1 J-ton nominal rating) and 28,000 pounds gross train weight. The trucks have many new features. DETROIT, MICH., Dec. 20 A completely new line of Dodge "Job Rated" trucks comprising 248 basic ba-sic chassis models ranging from 4250 to 23,000 pounds gross vehicle weight and up to 40,000 pounds gross train weight was announced today by L. F. VonNortwick, director direc-tor of truck sales of the Dodge division, Chrysler Corporation. Some models of the new trucks will be displayed starting January 7 by Peterson Motor Company in Delta. A combination of massive strength stren-gth and smoothly flowing lines is the keynote of styling for the new trucks. They were designed to combine com-bine appearance with comfort, saf- road conditions. Comfort in any season or weather weath-er is provided by an all-weather heating and Ventilating system which is an ingenious combination of truck, cowl, defroster vents, vent windows, cowl ventilator and fresh air intake. De luxe and custom cabs have what is termed "360" vision thru increased glass area and installation installa-tion of rear quarter windows. Wind shields and windows of the new "Pilot House" cabs are higher and wider, adding to vision and safety. Drivers can enter or leave the conventional con-ventional cab easily from either side since the gear shift and e- ety, performance, economy and ease of handling. Front axles have been moved back and engines have been moved forward to place more of the gross vehicle weight on the front axle and provide better weight distribution. distri-bution. The wheelbase for conventional conven-tional models through the 2-ton has been reduced eight inches, while the 2- and 3-ton models have been reduced six inches. The new trucks have been engineered so that despite the shorter wheel-base, wheel-base, the cab-to-axle dimensions remain practically unchanged, making it possible to use the same length bodies as before. New ease of handling and driving driv-ing has been provided by the short er wheelbases and wider tread i mergency brake levers have been moved forward to give clear floor space from door to door.
