Show NO USE FOR REPUBLICANS. Notwithstanding the fact that Governor Bamberger has given it out that he is the "only Democratic governor the Republicans ever elected" in Utah, he has no use for Republicans when it comes to making appointments. Of course in the distribution of plums, salaried offices, it was not to be expected that any Republicans would be recognized, but among the gratuities it was thought the governor would be reasonable. In making his Cache County selections for the U. A. C. board he has selected two Democrats, and both from the same financial institution. If any Republicans were to be considered, Hon. Thomas Smart and Bishop John Q. Adams were expected to be in line. During their trusteeships trus-teeships both have contributed of their time and money to the school, and in fact they are the only trustees, or citizens of the state; that have contributed real money to the school. Trustee Smart gave $10,000 to the gymnasium, gymnasi-um, and Bishop Adams was the prime mover in getting the athletic field, without cost to the college. Surely men of such character should receive consideration at the hands of an unbiased executive, but apparently not so in the opinion of Utah's governor, the first Democrat the "Republicans ever elected."
