Show H DESERVED CRITICISM. B United States Senator Stone of Missouri is being criti-B criti-B xscd most severely on account of his desertion of Presi-m Presi-m ' sclent Wilson in a most trying and critical hour. The critics criti-cs dsm is deserved, for of all the members of the senate that m should have stood by the President it was Senator Stone. 1 Throughout all the little skirmishes that have taken place B during the past four years Senator Stone has sought to B Ije the great right arm of the President, and no man in B 'hs senate has been more caustic in his criticism of other B -senators who have disagreed with the President than has B ".Senator Stone. He has catered, and toadied to the Prcsi-R Prcsi-R cfeiit until he has assumed the role of a veritable lick-B lick-B -spittle, and yet in the hour of extreme importance to the B nation, when the eyes of the world are upon us, this pre-B pre-B .tender, this counterfeit shows his true self. Verily Sen-Hi Sen-Hi ator Stone of Missouri should be officially "stoned to ?eath." B It is refreshing to note that all Republican Senators H stooil hy the government. That is always the case, as m IRcpublicans know what is costs to make a government B sow) to unhold and maintain it. The mischief was wrought B -through such as Senator Stone and the Progressive sen- m ;atcrs tvIio held up the bill. The attitude of the Progress- B " Ivts is just a little enactment of an unholy alliance be- H tween Democrats and Progressives, where there is noth- M sng In common, save the defeat of the Republicans. Some- B thing that savors not of merit, or common sense, and B irom Avhich no good can be expected. B There is no question but that the President is doing his B "hirst to handle the intricate situation, and will continue to B rIo so. lie is our President and when our country is in B -danger his hands should not be tied. The American peo- B pic have sufficient confidence in the President to give him H -what he asks for, and their servants should have voiced B -the sentiments and voted in accord with their desires. B 'The action of the obstructionists was un-American. |
