Show e s TEACH THRIFT TO CHILDREN At different times we have called attention, at-tention, to the failure of American people to save. This applies to every one; but more often to those who receive salaries or wages. Two-thirds o f the people leave no estate at their death. Only nine out of one hundred leave as much as $5,000. At the age of 65 ninety-seven out of one hundred Americans are, to some extent, ex-tent, dependent on their relatives. They have lived from day to 'day, and have made no preparation for old age. Everyparent should teach his children to save. Once formed, this habit is apt to continue through life. A savings bank account is a wonderful aid to success, not because of the money itself, but because is shows thrift. . j y$sr |
