About OtfO H music from Mention's Silver Cornet H band brought the people fiom all H quarters In holiday attire to the H meeting house, where the exercises H were conducted on account of the H damp weather. A very enjoyable H program was rendered After music H from the baud the ciownlng ol the H May Queen was in order, Master Wll- H ford Soiouson acting as arch-blshpp and H Miss Hacl Bird as iiieen. The arch- H bishop's speech was well composed. The H Maids of Honor, looking like roses, H and cscoits were Chloc Hancock, Myr- H tie llakcr, Kthcl Soienson, Ina Sorcn- B son, Ldlth Hughes and Kthcl Long- H stroth, Alma llakcr, Charles Ladle, H Elmer Hancock, Arthur Kidman and H George Anderson. H Jn the afternoon a dance was given H for the children, Including tho May- B pole dauec. On the public square was H v baseball galore. Tho llrst game was H between the bojs of Mendon and H Logan between the ages of twelve and H fourteen, Mendon winning by a large H scoie. Mendon team also plajcd H with the Wellsvllle bos, winning H against them also, Mention's second H nine and Logan second team played a H good game, Mention winning by big H odds. Then came the game of the H day, Mcndbn'H llrst, nine and l'ctcr- H boro's team. This was a cry Inter- Hj cstlug and hard fought game. Score H stood 1 to 21 In favor of I'etcisboio. H The day's spotts ended with a big H ball In IMchards' hall, a large eiovvd H being in attendance. |
