Show A CITIZEN TALKS Says "Loyalty" will solve Light Squabble. Rather Caustic Remarks about Non-supporters. Him rou RiU'i'iii.iCAN -Please allow me space In )our valuable paper for a few of my rambling thoughts concerning concern-ing the burning question of the day so far as Logan City Is concerned. The electric light proposition seems to be a stumper, and why? Simply because be-cause of disunion and dislo)alty. "A house divided against Itself cannot stand. A very pcitincnt scriptural saying K: "Those who are not for us, arc against us." These sayings can as truly be applied to matters par-tabling par-tabling to our muulcipalllty as It can to a family to a church to a state or couutiy. "United wo stand, divided we fall." People who boast of their good will toward their fellows, who say they love Logan and hci citlcns, and claim to have sacrificed enormously for the upbuilding of tho city and this country and say further that the majority ma-jority should riilc, thatthc voice of the people, or the will of the people, Is the voice and wlllofGod.yct In thclractlons aro not true to the precepts they have promulgated, then 1 say they arc not true to the people; they aro after lining their own pockets. Can any one truly say they love tho cltlcns of Logan and patronic, uphold, sustain and defend a trust against a united effort of the majority of tier citizens to establish a permanent public utility that if properly sustained will prove to bo of untold benefit, to us and our children for generations to come? Wo have another class -they arc office of-fice seekcis. Some aie even now try Ing to pull all political lopes to gain If possible a paltry secietar.vhhlp and yet they patronle tho trust. Wo have men In publlu positions today who pattoule the trust I claim such men should not be elected nor sustained sus-tained in any public capacity If they will not palionlc the people, the people peo-ple should not favor them. Why? Because they aro not true. "They are not foi us, but against us," Then why should we kiss the hand that smites usV The time Is fast approaching approach-ing wlien all public utilities will be owned by the people and traitors to I the cause of the people will be more scaice than they are today. They will not dare to be so bold to apply the whitewash as they aie at present, but why not check them a little now? A little united efford on the part of the friends of the Logan city municipal electric light plant will make the soreheads come to time. Let us stand by the actions of the city council. They hao acted wlscl) In tills matter. mat-ter. Don't give up city fathers, go ahead as vou have begun, tiio people are with you. There Is another class I want to mention. 1 well remember a certaiau Individual wholaboicd very earnestly with me, and finally contorted me to sustaining the city light proposition. His name 1 believe was "Jed." No man worked harder than he; hctdlous how mean and contemptible this light trust was and that wo as cltlcns of a community were guilty of an enormous crime by sustaining them. It appears to me now that ho did this all, not for principle, nor for the good of the people, peo-ple, but for .t,00 per day, for ho suppoits, sustains an J patronles the trust and has no use for the people only in theory and so far as it benefits him.
