This depart mentis one of the rapidly rapid-ly growing departments of tho College; last vcar was especially successful, and the picsent year promises to be even more successful than any year in the past. With the new studio and additional equipment, we expect to be the leading school of music In the state. Our teachers are all specialists. Miss Lillian Oliver, one of Salt Lako's leading pianists, has devoted her whole mo to the piano. Sho studied in Europe under thj great teacher Bcrcnger. There is' not an artist in the state who has received more favorable favor-able criticisms from the public and press. Pupils come, to her from all over the state and from as rar north as Montana. C. M. Harris, violinist, studied in Europo and is considered or.c of the very best in tho state. He like Miss Oliver has made a specialty of tho one instrument, tho violin. Pupils come fiom Salt Lake city to study with him. W. O. Bobinson, vocal teacher, is another specialist. He has studied under some of the veiycst American teachers. His private voice, culture woik has been so successful that he could not accommodate all who desired desir-ed Instruction. Among Ills pupils are Stake choristers who have spoken In high praise of the instruction le-celvcd. le-celvcd. Mr. G. N. Curtls,onc of Miss Oliver's advanced pupils will act as her assistant assist-ant following her methods of Instruction. Instruc-tion. Mr. David Smith, instructor on the violin, studied in Salt Lake City, and has taken a three-years' couiso under Piofessor Harris. Ho will teach the celebrated German method of violin playing. Frank E. Plowman, Instructor on Banjo, Guitar, and Mandolin, has studied under some of the best American Amer-ican performers, on thcir.Jnstruments, and Is a most successful teacher. Pupils desiring to becomo artists or successful music teachers, should placc.thcmsclvcsundcrlnstiuctorswho have a reputation and the ability to teach, and who are known toliavo correct methods.
