Show George Blair Dead. Dies In Salt Lake City Thursday from Ptomaine Poisoning. George E. Hlair, formeily of Logan, brother of "Jed" Hlair of this city, and husband of Nellie Thatcher-Rlalr.dledin Thatcher-Rlalr.dledin Salt Lake city Thursday Thurs-day evening about live o'clock. The word came to Logan in the morning that Mr. Hlair was dead, and the shock was a gieat one to his many friend and the iclatlvcs In this city. This report was denied later, but the good news was shortlived, fot a message mes-sage was leceived In the evening announcing an-nouncing his death. During the iccent months (ieorge liad been particularly Interested In Nevada mining property and a shoit time ago was in Logan offering stock for sale. Since leaving heic It has been reported that Mr. Hlair and "others had been offered enormous sums for Mieir holdings. Whether this Iscoircct or not Mr. Hlalr's Interests In-terests let him to visit the Nevada country frequently and there lie contracted con-tracted his ailment. About ten oi twelve dajs ago, according to The News, he returned from San Francisco suffering from Inllamatoiy rheumatism, rheuma-tism, being in a very bad condition. Later he was removed to the Groves L. D. S. hospital, and It appears that ptomaine poisoning developed. Geo. was always one of those big, opcn-heaited, care free, hale-fellow well met kind and had manv friends. These arc shocked at his untimely death, coming as it did at the prime of life and just when it appeared that fortune was about to smile upon him. The Immediate lelativesof Mr. Hlair were with him at hi-, death and tlicse with theothers have the sympathy of a distressed community. Tiik Hki'ijhmcan Is in receipt of a telegram from Hon. .Tas. T. Hammond stating that Mr. Hlalr's remains will be brought to Logan for burial, and funeral services will be held in the Logan tabernacle Sunday at V-' o'clock noon. |
