Show Riter Funeral Funeral services over the remains of S. W. Riter were held yesterday at 10 a. m in the tabernacle. The speakers speak-ers were John E. Carlisle, A. G. Barber, Bar-ber, Louis Cardbn and Apostle John Henry Smith. The desire of the deceased de-ceased that the speakeis at his funeral funer-al should not Indulge In any laudation was strictly adhered to. His family life was referred to, showing his willingness wil-lingness to aid In establishing the early settlements. He came to Utah In 1847, helped rescue the handcart emigrant?, was an Indian. fighter and in a general way spent his early life for tlio public good. Interesting incidents inci-dents pertaining to the family were related. A quartette, consisting of B. G. Thatcher, Frank Baugh, Mrs. Nettie Sloan and Mrs. Llnnartz, furnished the music, which .was rendered In a creditable manner. The services were presided over by tho bishopric of the Third ward. Pall bearers were Soloman Hale, H. E.. Hatch, H. A. Peterson, David Thomas, Bishop Newbold and Fred Turner. There were many beautiful floral offerings. |
