Show Social Events At Smithfield Many Parties; Comings and Goings, Etc. V SMITHFIELD, Feb. 14. On Wednesday night the Mother's Literary and Social club gave a ball for the benefit of the old folks day. It was1 a huge success socially and financially, most of the town's "Four Hundred "were out and engaged in the" Ball of tho season". Vice president Mary Griffith' was absent owing to the serious illness of her husband Robert (jrifllth, who has an obstinate ob-stinate case of quinsy. President Alice Toolson is to be congratulated congratula-ted upon the pronounced success of the affair.
