Show Scarlet Fever at Hyde Park HYDE PARK, April 18 -That beautiful star spangled banner, generally gener-ally called a quarantine flaj?, that has so proudly waved o'er your scribe's bumble home for four weeks, waves there no longer, and we are now free to come and go without restraint, and to send you a few more Hyde Park squlbbllngs. Oh It's so nice to b under quarantine. We can "oop, , 'oiler and 'owl like a pack of 'oodlums," and our neighbors will not arrest us. Scarlet fever has had quite a run here the last six weeks. Schools, meetings, meet-ings, and all publlo gatherings have ceased. Thcie have been some twenty-two llags put up, and Just how many cases we do not know. One good thing about It, It has been In a very light form, jet very contagious. Outside of scarlet fever the health of the Hyde Park people Is good. Hut little cropping has been done so far, as the season has been so damp and cold. Some few hac their beets In. Wm. Follett has had a good force of men out the last few days giving the Logan and Richmond canal Its annual cleaning. Hyde Park's horsemen are preparing prepar-ing a goodly number of their horses to carry off prizes and blue ribbons- at the horse show at Smtthtleld next Saturday. Quite a number of our people attended at-tended the recent conference at Salt Lake city. At an open air meeting held at the hall last Saturday the consolidation of the schools was discussed pro and con, and a vote of those present showed a great majority against it. Several of our young men went out west this week to shear sheep. They will shear about 100 miles west of Og-den. Og-den. Pur mall carrier, Thomas W. Klrbv, Is again able to be about and bring us P the mail each morning. |
