Show The Juvenile Band at Work Membership and Instrumentation Instru-mentation to Date. Director Carl Lechtenberg has his Juvenile, band practicing now, a total of twenty-two members showing up at Tegular meeting time, and ho is confident that in a few weeks the boys can appear on the streets and furnish some fairly acceptable music. He has been surprised at the talent of some of the youngsters and thinks It rather remarkable that of the twenty-two selected to date no one has had to drop out because of Incapacity. All the boys are enthusiastic, thoroughly tractable, so things aro moving along very smoothly. Jn order to bring the boys up to snuff quickly, Mr. Lechtenberg Lechten-berg gives each one a haff or an hour's practice twice each week and the result of this is very marked and, of course, decidedly favorable. The membership at this time is as follows: Cornets: G. Bateson, W. Brown, N. Berntson, G. Dunbar, C. Bench, C. Lechtenberg Jr., C. Nyman, W. Jacques, W. Jensen Jr., R. Edwards. Altos: K. Wahlcn, A. Earl, W. Smith. Bass; L. Smith, J. Smith. Tenors: W. Edwards, W. G. Smith. Baritone: W. Eogland. Drums: M. Earl. R. Bateson, L. Berntson. Many other boys desire to join the band and just as Instruments are secured se-cured these will be added to the organization.' If a little money can be secured someone interested will go to Salt Lake city shortly to rummage the second-hand stores for fair Instruments of a nominal price. |
