Show Edison's Courtship. Mr. T. A. Edison's courtship was chaiactorlstlc of tho great inventor. Tho first Mrs. Edison was, previous to her marriage, a telegraph operator in his employ. One day, while standing stand-ing behind her, watching her at work, Edison, who had long admired the young lady, was surprised when she turned around and said:1 "Mr. Edison, I can always tell when you are near me." "How do you account for that?" returned Edison. "I don't know," responded re-sponded tho young lady, "but It Is a fact, and said: 'I've been thinking considerably about you of late, and If you are willing to marry mo I would like to marry you." A month later they were married, the union proving a very happy one. |
