Show Presbyterians Come to City 75 of Them Holding Forth Each Day. At the New Jersey Academy, this city, the Presbyterian teachers teach-ers and ministers of Utah arc holding their 25th annual session. There are perhaps 75 in atten dance at this time and the number num-ber will probably be increased. The three sessions thus far havo been of exceptional interest and participants express a belief that the convention will prove a thorough success in every way. Thursday evening Rev. H. E. Hays, of the Third Church, Salt Lake City, delivered an address on "The Great Teacher." Th'ts man is of prepossessing appearance, appear-ance, excellent address and , is said to have made a superb presentation pre-sentation of the subject in hand. , Friday morning, Dr. W. M. Paden, of Salt Lake City1, took up "Revelation" and by a process of reasoning based on scripture put the Mormons out of business, so far as "revelation" is concerned. In tho afternoon he gave another address, this, on "Tho Christian's Idea of God." He managed to make it clear that the Christian's idea is not the idea held by tho Saints. Those present insist that Dr. Paden 's efforts were gems of the first water, and iu all probability they will be published that Bro. Roberts and others may answer them. Rev. G. W. Martin, of Monti, gave an address on "Nature Study" that is reported as of splendid worth. He convinced the assemblage that though living In the midst of nature few of those before him knew anything at all about nature. An instrumental selection by Miss M. J. Clarke, of Franklin, proved a pleasant feature of the afternoon session. Last night, Dr. T. F. Day, of San Francisco, gave a lecture on the "Rise and Influence of German Ger-man Universities." There will be no service to night, but this morning at 10:30 Dr. S. E. Wishard, the object of V. S. Peet's vituperation, will deliver an address on the "Assumptions "As-sumptions of Destructive Critics." Crit-ics." This ought to be of interest inter-est to some of the curious in tho city. The sessions continue duily until un-til next Thursday, beginning 'at 9 a. m., 2 p. m. and 8 p. m. The public has a cordial invitation to attend any and all of theso ser-sions. ser-sions.
