Show Great Trenton Country Irnprovments That Are Making The West Side Loom Up Rapidly. TRENTON, Juno 11, lOOfl.-I'arley Merrill has laid out twcnty-nlno acres of his big farm into a part of tho Trenton townslte, and has already sold six one-acre lots on which building build-ing Is going on, or will bo during this coming summer, including residences for Brlgham Benson, James llrlggs and Aaron J. Hill, The West Cacho Canal Is In line shape and Is carrying all the water that will bo required for the west sldo of the river. Tho canal Is now carrying carry-ing thro feet of water, twelve feet wide at the bottom, and twenty-one feet at the water line. There are 350 acres In beets all within three-quarters of a mile of the station, alt doing well, and there are twenty-five twenty-five Japs now busy thinning. Beets all look well and the wheat crop Is tho finest stand ever known In tho history of Trcntcu. Perry Brolheis, of Ogden, havo arranged ar-ranged for ground on which to build a grain warehouse. and; havo contracted for the lumber for Its erection. Tho Smurthwaltc Produce company are a!-, so putting up a warehouse at this point. Ephralni Bergeson, the general manager of the canal company, has Just completed putting In an iron screen at the head works to prevent the fish from coming down the canal, as required by law. The O. S. L. has completed ono of the handsomest stations at Trenton there Is In tho county, being 40x"0 feet, and a much nicer station than than the new structure at Smlthtlcld. John 11. Smith, of Greenville, has purchased the Frit. Jensen farm of eighty acres ono mllo from the station, for which he paid $55 an acre Land Is selling moro readily today In Trenton for from $50.00 to 105.00 an aero than It did sis years ago for from $10 to $20. Frank Ravstcn, of Clarkston, purchased pur-chased twcnty-llvo acres from Aaron J. Hill, for which ho paid $52.50 an acre. Tho excavation Is going on for a $50,-000 $50,-000 grist mill, being put up by tho Trenton & Clarkston Elevator Co. Alma Hardy, of Davis county, has purchased tho Tcllcson farm and has arranged to movo his family here. So much for tho West Cache Canal and the persevering farmers of Trenton Tren-ton on tho west side. Tho lumber yards havo sold already this year eight carloads of lumber for buildings at Trenton. James llrlggs Is putting up a largo mercantile house on the main street of the town. W. II. Price has started on tho foundation for a first-class saloon. Thomas Cutler Is completing a new $3,000 resldenco next to ills store. Wo havo a carpenter shop and three first-class carpenters. |
