Series tickets may be purchased in person in the SUSC Departments of Art and Music between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. or by mail. Tickets will be sold at the door. Buckminster Fuller "The World of Buckminster Fuller", a two-hour film on the life of a man often referred to as "The Modern Michelangelo", will be shown at the Music Center Recital Hall of Southern Utah State College on Monday, February 4, 8 p.m.; Wednesday, February 6, 8 p.m.; and Thursday, Thur-sday, February 7, 4 p.m. The public is invited. "The World of Buckminster Fuller" is one of three films making up an illustrated lecture film series about geniuses in the arts. The series is being presented by the SUSC Departments Depart-ments of Art and Music. Buckminster Fuller is a work-famous work-famous designer, philosopher, architect, inventor, scientist, and teacher. This comprehensive visual film close-up portrays the multi-faceted Buckminster Fuller in action. It shows some of his many daring inventions, including his three-wheel Dymaxion car and a light-weight home that can be transported and put into place by helicopter. He explores the vast amount of human knowledge which stands available but un-used, for improving im-proving the human condition. He discusses and illustrates his belief that the Utopia he envisions en-visions is now within man's reach. |
