Show I I I W I Q George Stapley succumbs; services are held Funeral services for George Palm Stapley, 80, of 88 So. 200 E. were held Wednesday at 1:00 P.M. in the Twelfth Ward Chapel under direction of the Metcalf Southern Utah Mortuary with Councilor Dell W. Slack officiating. of-ficiating. Mr. Stapley was born Dec. 14, 1895 in Toquerville, Utah a son of JohnC. and Elizabeth Hoopsmith Stapley. He moved to Cedar City at the age of six years to live with Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Palm who raised him. He served with the U. S. ArmyduringW.W.I.OnNov. 2, 1945 he married Mary Pearl Urie in Castleton, Nevada. Mrs. Stapley died July 21, 1971. Mr. Stapley was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and Disabled American Veterans. He is survived by three sister-in-laws: Mrs. Sarah Fife, San Francisco, Calif., Mrs. Martha Urie, Cedar City, Mrs. Zelpha Crawford, Ogden, Utah, a brother-in-law: Milburn Williams, Cedar City, two nieces: Mrs. Rulon Woodbury and Mrs. Albert Adams, Cedar City. Interment was in the Cedar City Cemetery. |
