Show Annual Art Exhibit dates changed The Cedar City Art Committee, Tom Leek, Chairman, met recently and determined that the Thirty-Fourth Annual Cedar City Professional Invitational Art Exhibit would be held from November 2, through November 16, 1974. The professional exhibit will be followed by the amateur exhibit. The decision for a fall exhibit is on a trial basis. The many spring activities in the community, including church and school, were a major contributing con-tributing factor in the decision to change the dates. In addition, many state, regional and national exhibits are held in the spring, limiting artist participation. par-ticipation. It is felt by the Committee that a fall exhibit will attract a larger professional participation and the exhibit is toeing scheduled away from major fall events. Other business of the Committee Com-mittee included a report from Chairman Leek stating that the Cedar City Exhibit will be the recipient of a $1600 grant from the Utah State Institute of Fine Arts; the grant is to be matched with local contributions. Released from the Committee during the meeting were Pratt Bethers, Randy Holm, John Reyna, Jean Moore, David and Jan Lee. The work of these people is appreciated. New to the Committee is Jane Chatterley Johnson. The Committee is at work now preparing and planning for the fall opening. |
