Show Salt Lake executive bids for Congress post . . . thly in the past year, I know the federal bureaucracy. And, I know how to work for Utah, he declared. Philosophically, a Congressman has two responsibilities. respon-sibilities. First, he is paid by his fellow citizens to put in the research and thinking time necessary to provide proper leadership and vision on the problems that affect the country and his District. But, at the same time, a Congressman is by the very nature of his title, a "Representative" of the people. A Congressman must know how the people he represents feel on all of the important issues and he has the responsibility to reflect those feelings, he stated. At the time of his announcement an-nouncement as a candidate Monday, Dwan also made public a complete disclosure of his personal financial status. The candidate concluded his remarks by stating that America is simply the sum total of all of us. And, we as a people are still fair and honest and hard working and free. As we look forward to our 200th birthday, I continue to have complete faith and confidence con-fidence in the American way of life. Dwan is an account executive with David W. Evans, Inc. in Salt Lake City. He was named director of public relations for the agency in July 1973. JOHN DWAN The cadidacy of John Dwan for the United States House of ! The candidate stated that "As 1 an active member of the Republican Party, I firmly believe that our Party, our political process and our society 1 ; only reflect the efforts that each of us individually is willing to put into making it work better." ; I pledge to be a working "bird dog" Congressman and by that I mean a Congressman who will ; know what's affecting Utah where in the Federal S Bureaucracy and will personally ! go down and "bird dog" it along. ; The squeaky wheel does get the grease and as far as the interest ! of Utah's Second Congressional District are concerned in ; Washington, I will make it one of ! my first responsibilities to be ! asking the appropriate questions of the appropriate people at the appropriate times.
