Show Eula Gardner named "Woman of the Year" Miss Eula Gardner was the recipient of the annual "Woman "Wo-man of the Year" award given by the Utah Alpha Chapter of the Phi Sigma Alpha Sor:rity at the organization's monthly meeting Monday. The coveted award is given in recognition of Miss Gardners contribution to the Sorority and the Community. Eula Gardner is a charter member of the Sorority and has the enviable record of having hav-ing missed only one meeting since the official organization in November 1962. She has served serv-ed as president, vice president, program coordinator and served terms as searetary-treasurer. Being a cultural Sorority she has given many lessons for the group. Recently Miss Garcner was honored as the "Woman of the Year" for the Cedar City Business Busi-ness and Professional Women's Club where she served in many capacities. She is active in other organizations where her talents are utilized and appreciated. The recipient recently retired at Secretary of the Farmers Home Administration office in Cedar City, after 26 years of devoted de-voted service. The award was presented at a meeting hosted at the home of Mrs. Leta Cowley. A special tribute to Miss Gardner was given by Miss Mamie Eck. EULA GARDNER Other activities of the even ing was the initiation of Edna Sargent as a new member into the Sorority. The group also celebrated their 11th birthday by playing Bunco followed by light refreshments served by hostesses Mrs. Leta Cowley and Mrs. Marva Heppler. |
