Pickering wins chess tournament The Chess Club at Cedar High has sponsored a chess tournament. Howard Pickering "checked" his wav to the grand term. The club members attempted at-tempted to establish competition competi-tion with other schools as well. New members hope to sponsor another tournament in the spring. prize of $25, the club announced announc-ed recently. The hopefuls at the beginning begin-ning of the competition, Oct. 20, were Brad Thompson, How-'ard How-'ard Pickering, Larry Hatch, Randy Miller, Scott Burns, Lon-nie Lon-nie Rohwer, Donald Fransisco, Jonathan Carter, Phillip Gerr-ing, Gerr-ing, Arnold Graff, Farrell Pickering, Pick-ering, James Ledgh, Jay Jones, Scott Werner, Teresa Matheny, Todd Hansen, Colin Campbell, and Kurt Cravens.
