Show Marching - its hard work The Parowan Marchers this year under the direction of Mrs. LeilanI Bentley are working work-ing hard to become perfectionists perfection-ists in their field. They're up early every morning only to find themselves stretching their bodies to perform impossible im-possible tasks. They work hard to learn and perform new routine rou-tine at ball games and in contests and Darades. School support is of great importance to these girls and they do all they can to promote pro-mote pride In the school. They support the school teams by attending every ball game and represent Parowan High by performing at other schools. Several of the girls this past summer attended a clinic for all the marchers in the state and came back with top honors hon-ors in many events. The girls also took first place in SUSC's Homecoming Parade this past month. Along with these performances, per-formances, the girls displayed their talents In Dixie's Homecoming Home-coming Parade, and ; several season football games. ' v ";" ' The officers of the marching group this year are: Laurene Dalley, president; Valynne Bentley, vice president; Karen Van Ausdal, secretary; Wendy Robinson, projects chairman; and Christl Burton, reporter. The rest of the girls, Holly Robinson, Jerl Jerome, Louise Davenport, Laura 'Barton, Wendy Stolk, Flora Halterman Moana Adams, Julie Bentley, DeAnn Stapley, Bonnie Hyatt, Elaine Robinson, Susie Pritch. ard, Gail Evans, Denise Pris-brey, Pris-brey, and Denise Benson are working hard under the direction direc-tion of their officers. To raise money for new unl. forms and other, necessary it-? ems, the Marchers have start i, -ed a paper drive, collected pop bottles, and sold candy for the past two or three months. They have been quite success, ful so far, and they hope to do better In the future. The Marchers are now gett-ing gett-ing ready for the Rammette Review and Regional Marching March-ing contest, along with their regular half-time perform-ances. perform-ances. They hope to represent the school with pride and a big first place at the end of all events. |
