J The Jan. 9 SUSC Forum lecture lec-ture featured Peter, James, John, and Esther, all from Uyo, Nigeria, Africa. They are recent re-cent converts to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and an? here at SUSC to further their education; with the ultimate aim of returning re-turning to Nigeria and applying apply-ing their knowledge to advance ad-vance their country. There are over 30 different tribes in Nigeria, ach speak, lng a different language. The language Peter, James, John, and Esther speak is "Ibibio." It U interesting that the official of-ficial language cif Nigeria and language used for inter-tribal communications is English. Peter Akpan, the first speaker, speak-er, was formerly a school teacher and olanfation owner i Nigeria. He is married and has f-ur ciu.u.tii ,na w.ie and two younger children should be Joining Peter shortly short-ly in the United States. His two older children are attending attend-ing boarding-school in Niger, la. Peter expressed his gratitude grati-tude and thanks to the people of Cedar City for their friendly reception here. He is a senior at SUSC majoring in Accounting Account-ing and plans to attend graduate grad-uate school next year. Ok on Jimmy Akpan, 18 years old and a cousin to Peter, comes from a very 'arge Nigerian family. Being a Pre-med student, Jimmy is majoring in Chemistry and Zoology.
