Show Weed Control confab slated in area Feb. 1 Weeds, their damage and control will be the focus of 12 district weed control confer' ences hold at various locations loca-tions In Utah from January 30 to February 23. According to Lynn Esplln, Iron County Extension Agent, the conference for Iron, Washington, Wash-ington, Kane and Garfield Counties will be held at the Courthouse in St. George Feb. 1. The program at St. George Is designed to be of sipeclal Interest to farmers and ranchers ranch-ers in this area as well as iuuMUWUMMMMMMM county weed boards, farm suppliers, commercial spray operators and others Interested Interest-ed In weed control. James Bowns, SUSC, who Is working part time In Extension Exten-sion Range Management, will discuss control of poisonous plants on range lands. Louis Jensen, USU Extension Agronomist, Agron-omist, will discuss basic elements ele-ments of weed control and weed identification. Lynn Es-plln, Es-plln, Iron County Agent, will talk on control of field bindweed bind-weed (mornlng-iglory) and other perennial weeds In cropland. crop-land. Don Huber, Washington County Agent, will discuss weed control on non-cropland and there will be a panel discussion dis-cussion on weed control In alfalfa. al-falfa. Horace Hall, Utah Department De-partment of Agriculture, will report on the noxious weed problem in Southwest Utah. |
