Show CROSSWALK GUARD HONORED. Mrs. Sue crossing guard at North Elementary as beaming Jensen presents a gift to Paul Stokes, school children look on. Cross guard honored at North Elementary comments made by smiling young boys and girls as they skipped happily across the busy highway knowing that they were being watched over. Parents indicate that not only is this special man friendly and firm with their children but that he carries a certain authority with him which enables him to be firm with motorists. "He doesn't let the drivers get away with anything!" The PTA officers have as their first concern the welfare of their children. Having someone dependable and as good at his job as Mr. Stokes is gives them much relief. All members of the North Elementary made it unanimous in their vote of thanks to Mr. Stokes. Mr. Stokes is well-known in Cedar City. He managed Karl's Shoe Store for many years and is still known as Bishop Stokes by the parents of many of the young people he now helps cross the street. Last Friday at 3:15 p.m. Mr. Paul Stokes was interrupted in his usual duties of helping children at North Elementary cross the street. The interruption was a pleasant one as children beamed happily and Mrs. Sue Jensen represented the PTA in presenting Mr. Stokes with a present in appreciation for the fine job he is doing. Also present for the presentation presen-tation was Principal Kent Hulet. Children and parents alike voice great love and respect for Mr. Stokes. "He really cares!" "He likes us!" "He helps us!"
