Show Water outlook above average for 74 A report issued this week by the Soil Conservation Service indicates that the water supply . outlook for the Southwestern portion of Utah is near average, as of the First of February. The report indicates that snow covered ranges from 116 percent on Coal Creek to 136 percent on the Virgin River. Precipitation at mountain stations ranged from 73 percent of the January average on Parowan Creek to 195 percent for Webster Flat. The October-January October-January total at these stations has been 86 percent and 107 percent of average, respectively. Reservoir storage is 17,419,000 acre-feet in Lake Powell. Last February 1 it held 12,253,000 acre-feet. acre-feet. Streamflow forecasts vary from 110 percent of the April- June average on the Virgin to 130 percent of the April-July average for the inflow to Lake Powell. Coal Creek, the report indicated, is forecast 114 percent of the April-July average for the 1958-72 period. ' |
