Show -m' do DAVID B. FREED Noted cellist to perforin concert Sunday David B. Freed, cellist and adjunct associate professor of music at the University of Utah will perfor Bach's "Six Suites for Violoncello" in a free outdoor out-door concert especially arranged arrang-ed by the Cedar City Music Arts Committee. The program, entitled "Bach Is Love" Is scheduled for Sunday, Sun-day, July 29 at 7:30 p. m. on the patio between the Music and Library building on the SUSC campus. Mr. Freed will be in Cedar City to attend the Utah Shakespearean Festival and will present the concert free as a gift to the community. The Utah musician was for a decade Symphony Orchestra. He is the principal cellist of the Utah author of two books for young cellists. Freed describes the Bach suites as orginally written to help ease the hatred caused by war. In the period of religious and political rifts following the ' Thirty Year War, musicians traveled from country to country coun-try playing music representative representa-tive of the countries involved in the conflict. Music became a way to forget past hatreds and enemies and the suites became be-came harbingers of peace, according ac-cording to Mr. Freed. Bach wrote the six suites during a short span of years and each has elements representing different dif-ferent countries. The Cedar City Music Arts Committee cordially Invites the public to this informal recital program.
