Show Elmer Hunter Wood dies at home Elmer Hunter Wood, 72, lifetime resident of Cedar City Masonary contractor, died Oct. 18, 1976 at his residence of a heart condition. Mr. Wood was born April 29, 1904 in Cedar City the son of John Robert and Agnes Maine Hunter Wood. He married Melba Hollingshead Aug. 30, 1928 in Cedar City. This marriage was later solemnized in the St. George LDS Temple. Many brick buildings in Iron and surrounding counties stand as a tribute to his skill in masonary. He had worked on most of the LDS Chapels and schools in southern Utah. He is survivied by his wife, Cerdar City; 2 sons and 3 daughters: John A. Wood, Las Vegas, Nev.; Lee Wood, Cedar City; Mrs. Gary (Sandra) Smith, West Jordan; Mrs. B. Kay (LaJean) Knell, and Mrs. Dennis (Alene) Anderson, both of Cedar City. Also surviving are 15 grandchildren grand-children and eight great grandchildren grand-children and a sister, Mrs. Eva Dean Paulson, Phoenix, Ariz. Funeral services will be held Friday, Oct. 22, at 1 p. m. at the Cedar City Ninth Ward Chapel with Bishop Joseph Felix of- ELMER HUNTER WOOD ficiating. Friends may call at Metcalf Southern Utah Mortuary Thursday evenings, 7 to 9 p. m. and Friday prior to services. Interment will be in the Cedar City Cemetery under the direction of Metcalf Southern Utah Mortuary. |
