Members of the Southern Utah Handicapped Association, sponsors of the event, indicate that all members of families and the community are invited to attend and participate. A grand prize of a 10-speed bike will be given away to that person who obtains the most pledges and money. Smaller prizes will be donated by merchants. mer-chants. Interested persons may pcik up entry forms and pledge forms , at ehr following locations: Deseret Industries, Hunter Hardware, Spoke and Pedal, the Junior High, the High School, the Institute and Cullen's Texaco. Committe Chariman Paul Stokes urges participants to pick up their forms soon and "get . busy getting pledges so you can win that prize." The way a Bike Hike works is for a participant to get people to pledge a certain amount of money per mile and then after the boy or girl has ridden in the hike, he goes back and collects the money. This money is then turned in to the Handicapped Association. The 10-mile course, which will be patrolled for the safety of the riders, will begin at the city park, proceed down to 400 West and over to the Airport Road, out Lund Highway, and back on Ridge Road, past the high school acrooss Main Street to 200 East and back to the park. |
