Show Arden Marsden(Speed)Richards Melvin Craig Whitehead 27, dies dies in work mishap t Mrs. J. W. Ogden, Richfield. Funeral services were held Saturday, Oct. 16, at 4 p. m. in the Cedar Eight Ward Chapel. The family prayer was offered by Melvin Ramsay with Evelyn Jones playing the prelude and postlude msuic. Bishop Jeffrey Marchant conducted. The invocation in-vocation was offered by Scott Atkin followed by a soprano solo, "You'll Never Walk Alone," by Christine Winterrose. The speakers were Ralph C. Smith and Tony Lambert with remarks by Bishop Marchant. The closing musical was a vocal solo by Howard Wood, "Sometime We'll Understand" with Ed Oldroyd giving the benedf iction and Ralph C. Smith dedicating the grave. Interment was in the Cedar City Cemetery under the direction of the Spilsbury and Graff Mortuary. Arden Marsden (Speed) Richards, 55, Summit, died Monday Oct. 18, 1976 when he was crushed underneath a car which had fallen from a jack. Mr. Richards was born Feb. 21, 1921 in Parowan, the son of David H. and Maggie Dean Marsden Richards. He married Helen Smith on April 15, 1946 in Summit. Sum-mit. The marriage was later solemnized in the St. George LDS Temple. A graduate of Parowan High School he also attended SUSC. He joined the Navy in 1942 and served until 1945 seeing action in South Pacific, European and South Africa areas. He moved to Summit following his marriage where he has since resided. Richards was employed as a body and fender man at Bradshaw Chevrolet for 31 years. An active member of the LDS Church he served as Sunday School Teacher, Ward Choirister and a Counselor in the Elders Quorum Presidency. He is survived by his wife and two daughters: Mrs. Ricke (Linda Kay) Edwards, Greenville; Green-ville; and Miss Myra Dean Richards, Summit. Also surviving sur-viving are three grandchildren and three brothers: D. Carl Richards, Dallas, Tex. .; Reed M. Richards, Atlanta, Ga., and L. Dean Richards, North Las Vegas, Nev. Funeral services will be held todany, Thursday, Oct. 21 at 2 p. m. in the Summit Ward Chapel. Interment will be in the Summit City Cemetery under the direction of Metcalf Moretuary. Military honors will be accorded ac-corded by the CedarCity Unit of the Utah National Guard. MELVIN CRAIG WHITEHEAD Melvin Craig Whitehead, 27, died October 13, 1976 a t home. Born April 2, 1949 in Soda Springs, Idaho, to Kay M. and Janet Ogden Whitehead. Owned and operated South West Ambulance Am-bulance Service in Cedar City. He attended Southern Utah State College and was a Veteran of the Viet Nam War, serving with the Air Force. He is a past member of the Cedar City Volunteer Fire Department and the Iron County Jeep Patrol. Survivors are his parents; two brothers, David O, and Linsay K.
