Show U-SAIL project disscussed by School Board An extensive report on the U-SAIL U-SAIL spelling and writing programs was presented to the Iron County Board of Education at its October meeting held Monday at the East Elementary School. Mrs. Claudia Forsyth, district cirriculum director, discussed the program and its application in the Iron County Schools. She indicated to the board that the program is now being implemented im-plemented in the Junior High School and will provide a con-tinous con-tinous program of development through elementary and junior high school levels. The materials, provided through a consortium of seven School Districts from throughout the state, have been field tested and inservice training provided I to help teachers with the implementation im-plementation of the materials into the classroom, according to Superintendnent Clair Morris. I The Board authorized the i attendance of Wayne Mifflin to attend a Community School Training Course with funding to be provided through the Mott Foundation. Further they authorized the attendance of Jerald Hawley, Cedar City High School Principal at the National Conference for Title IV Chairman, Chair-man, to be held in Dallas, Tex. At the meeting the Board approved the purchase of a new car for the District Fleet. Bids were received on nine units and the bid was awarded to the apparent ap-parent low bidder, Lunt Motor Company, for a 1977 Dodge Monaco. The bid was in the amount of $5077.59. |
