Show Don't Hunt in National Parks Superintendent Robert C. Heyder issued a statement today reminding hunters that it is illegal to hunt in Zion National Park and Cedar Breaks National Monument. He further stated that patrols will be made to apprehend violators. Hunters are advised to become familiar with park boundaries or ask Ranger personnel when in doubt about location. Mr. Heyder reminded hunters that it is illegal to set up a base camp in the Park for hunting outside the area and that all firearms must be unloaded, cased and out of sight while in the Park areas. Violation of these regulations is punishable by a maximum fine of $500 and-or imprisonment to six months. |
