She is very interested in new and better ideas in education, especially in the areas of reading, speaking, listening, and writing. Her graduate program was built around this desire to know. She is a native of Parowan and graduated from Parowan High where she was valedictorian of her class. She graduated from the College of Southern Utah in 1963 and was valedictorian there also. She received her Masters degree from Utah State University in 1969, where her thesis was "Listening as a Language rift Art bkill in iLiemeniaiy School." She has also done advanced study in English at the University of Utah. She has been employed by the , Iron County School District ever since her graduation and has taught in both Cedar and Parowan Schools and while on the high school level taught English, music, and world history. Dr. Jensen is married to LaMar G. Jensen, now Iron County Treasurer, and they have three children: William Gary, Bonnie Jeanne, Terry Lee, and two grandchildren. She is presently teaching a mixed first-second grade at the Parowan Elementary. summer workshop for teachers, the conference will include several different categories. Dr. Jensen will teach "Developing Materials, Activities, and a Program for Reading in the Content Areas in the Elementary Schools." Courses in the workshop are designed for educators and have been arranged to provide enrichment and inservice materials for teachers, librarians, administrators, ad-ministrators, and counselors, coun-selors, to provide teaching methods and ideas as well as recertification credit. Dr. Jensen received her V.d D decree from BYU in PAROWAN - Dr. Roma Jensen has been invited to be a director in the third annual an-nual BYU Reading Conference, Con-ference, June 28, 29, 30 and July 1, in Provo, Utah.
