Dear Editor: f The drive to socialize utilities is not unique to Southern Utah. Radicals nationwide, waiting years for the right combination of circumstances, are now crawling out from under their rocks, in- ; spired by the dramatic leftward swing of 1 the federal government. Two generations ; of students who have not been taught the ' dangers and drawbacks of socialism are considered pushovers for the upcoming : propaganda campaign. The liberals fearlessly insist that a spade is a spade, but steadfastly refuse to honestly identify socialism. Is it because 1 they fear there could still be resistance if i the truth were known? A collective of rural and municipal power systems would submit to nationalization without a murmur, while a privately owned company would fight for its life, it is not cheaper power for the people that the promoters of such a collective are seeking, but a disasterous, crippling control over YOUR life through bigger, more powerful government. Socialism. If the now free people are so foolish and blind that they do not see the destructive forces at work in this nation and in this community, then I doubt it even appropriate ap-propriate to say, "God help us!" ; Florence Wolfram J |
