Show Registration for SUSC Summer School Registration for Southern Utah State College Summer School will be held June 14 at 8 a.m. in the SUSC Student Center, Large Ballroom. "We have a very innovative summer school, designed for flexible scheduling, short academic session and many special programs," said McRay Cloward, dean of the SUSC School of Continuing Education and Public Services. The first session will be held from June 15-July 9; the second session will begin July 12 and continue through August 6. "Persons are advised to register for both sessions on June 14 because there will be no special registration day for the second session," Cloward said. Registration for the second , - session will be held July 12, the same day classes begin, in the Registrar's Office, Administration Ad-ministration Building. For workshops and special classes, registration may be completed at the Registrar's Office any time prior to the beginning date of the workshop. Schedules offering a complete listing of regular academic courses, special workshops and seminars are available at Dr. Cloward's Office in Old Main 101 or at the Registrar's Office. "Not only is summer school taught by our own competent faculty but we also bring in a number of exciting visiting instructors," in-structors," Cloward said. "We have carefully planned the curriculum to meet the needs of students who have just graduated from high school as well as for the teacher wishing to meeting requirements for professional teacher certification cer-tification or recertification," he said. An application for summer school will be required of all students who did not attend SUSC during the regular quarter. This application may be obtained in the Admissions Office, first floor, Administration Building, prior to registration. "Located in the heart of beautiful southern Utah, SUSC summer school is relaxed and beautiful learning experience," Cloward said. 1 In addition to the regular academic offerings, the SUSC Summer School program includes in-cludes a great variety of special workshops, institutes, tours and special classes. ' Included are an Anthropology Field Seminar, July 12-August 6; Archeological Field Work, June 14-July 9; Art Education Workshop for Elementary Teachers, June 14-25; Basic Mathematics Workshop, July 12-August 12-August 6; and a Basketball Camp for boys, July 26-30 for grades 10 through 12 and August 2-6 for grades 7-9. Others are ' a Childhood Education Seninar, August 2-6; Contemporary Issues in Child Development, June 28-July 9; Cooperative Education, direct field experience; Crafts of Yesteryear Workshop, July 12-16, 12-16, 19-23, 26-30 and August 2-6; Creativity in Education Workshop, July 12-16; Creative Writing Workshop, June 14-25; and Devloping A Learning Center for the Classroom, July 19-23. Also included are an Environmental En-vironmental Education Workshop, , August 9-13; Fun damentals of Firearms Training Seninar, June 28-July 2; History of Southern Utah Forts and Military Endavors, June 28-July 2; Human Awareness Workshop, July 13-29; Inorganic Chemistry. An Intensive Study, June 14-August6; 14-August6; Kindergaten Materials and Methods, June 14-25; and Managing Reading Systems Practicum, July 12-23.
