Show PARAGONAH By Hilma Lamoreaux A number of the local ladies attended the County D.U.P. Convention held in Cedar City on June 2. honored lady from the Betsy Topham Camp and a tribute to her was given by her daughter, Mrs. Emma Dalton. Others who attended the convention were Mrs. Idella Robinson, Mrs. Leona Stones, Mrs. Lola Robb, Mrs. June Topham Mrs. Hazel Jean Robinson and Mrs. Hilma Laumoreaux. Mrs. Hazel Jean Robinson and Mrs. Wilma Lamoreaux have been nameti new county officers. Mr. and Mrs. Wells Orton welcomed a new baby girl at the Medical Center in Cedar City on May 30. The baby wieghed in at 6 pounds 5 ounces and makes a trio of sisters for young Kevin. Mr. and Mrs. Albert Denny of Layton were Monday visitors here with the James -H. Andersons. An-dersons. The Denneys are Jim's counsins. Mrs. Lola Robb left for Ridge Crest, Calif., on Saturday to attend High School Graduation for a granddaughter and visit with family members. ' ' ' Arch Fotheringham came home for Memorial Day after spending some time in Beaver. Mrs. Debbie Johnson and her brother, Mark Barton traveled to Logan on Friday to bring their sister Laura home after lier season at college. They arrived home on Saturday. Holly Robinson arrived home on Friday after attending college at Utah State University. She will spend few days with her folks, the Boyd Robinson family. Mr. and Mrs. Lee Abbott and two children of Salt Lake City , were here for the week end with I their people, the Albin Judd and : Myron Abblott families. ' Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Topham . and Jennifer of Price were here ; for the weekend with the Alva Tophams. for an overnight visit with Ivans mother, Mrs. Bertha S. Topham. Mr. and Mrs. Norman Harris and son Kelly of Salt Lake City arrived here on Sunday for a visit with Mona's mother, Mrs. Hannah Robinson before continuing con-tinuing on a vacation trip. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Martin of Sierra Madre, Calif, arrived here last week to spend some time at their vacation home. Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Debus of San Diego, returned to their home on Saturday after a vacation at their cabin here. Mr. Debus was quite successful at fishing and he smokes his own catch. Mr. and Mrs. Willard Lund of Salt Lake City were among the Memorial Day visitors here. They were accompannied by daughter Norma and members of her family. Mr. and Mrs. Owen Cox and Mrs. Roxa Reber of Las Vegas, Nav uprp hprp fnr thf Hnliriav. They came to attend graduation exercises at S.U.S.C. as Leslie was a member of the graduating group. The Ward Primary Blazer boys held their annual Early Bird Breakfast on Thursday at the Big Rock in Red Creek Canyon. Mothers of the boys were specical guests and the Primary leaders assisted. Darren and Christian Orton of Cedar City were weekend visitors here with grand parents, . Mr. and Mrs. Joe Lamoreaux. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Lamoreux, Dennis and Denise of Kearns were in town on the 30 and 31 to , visit with relatives. " Mrs. Melva Barton had a " number of visitors on Memorial Day. Mr. and Mrs. Delman Holyoak came from Milford, Mrs. Bertha Showaltef from Cedar City and Lowell Edwards and his son were here from , Delta. , Mr. and Mrs. Byron Montague of Payson were among the Memorial day visitors to Paragonah. They joined other members of the Williams L Davenport family who were here. Elwin Talbot and son Mark of Salt Lake City were her Friday for an overnight visist with the : Renford Talbots. i Mrs. Bertha S. Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Topham of Washington were here Thursdav I Mr. and Mrs. Ed Slack of Henderson, Nev. and members of their family of Cedar City were in (own on Monday. Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Jones and family of Salt Lake City returned home on Tuesday after spending the holiday here with the Blaine Jones family. The ownership of the store and service station in Paragonah changed hands on June 1 when the Scott Wayne Hermansens of Parowan purchased the business formerly known as "Les' Serivce" from the Leslie Hulet family. The business will now be known as "The Shopping Corner" Cor-ner" and Mr. Hermansen will also operate the adjoining Post Office. Mr. Phillip Hunter has managed both the station and the Post Office since Mr. Hulet left for New York in April. Mr. and Mrs. Blaine Roundy of Calif, have been here visiting with Orleane's relatives. Homer Boardman and Mrs. Ruth Boardman and with the Arthur Fretwells in Cedar City. Becky and Todd Robinson of Orem remained here with grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Chester Robinson and with the Dale Robinson family when their parents returned home the first of the week. Bishop and Mrs. Kenneth G. Topham traveled to Salt Lake City the first of the week where Pauline entered the Hospital for surgery. Mr. and Mrs. Larry Robb and children of Henderson, Nev. were here to spend the weekend with his mother, Mrs. Nina Robb. |
