Show Adams competes in NAIA Races third (Ft. Hays, Kansas), 10th (Pittsburg, Kansas, State), 29th (Southern Coloarado), and 38th (Western State). Richard Adams, a Southern Utah State College freshman, finished 67th in the recent National NAIA Cross Country competition. A total of 435 runners, including 53 full teams and numerous individual runners, run-ners, competed in the meet hosted by University of Wisconsin-Parkside at Kenosha, Wisconsin. "We are extremely pleased at Richard's performance," per-formance," Steve Lunt, SUSC cross country coach, said. "He finished in the top 16 percent of the field, and only eight other freshmen finished in the top ahead of him." Adams ran the hilly five- mile grass course in 25 minutes, 35 seconds. "We feel he could have finished even better, except he got boxed in coming down the chute-like finish," Lunt indicated. Gary Henry, a sophomore from Pembroke (North Carolina) State, was the individual winner with a time of 24.11. Adams State, a member of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, captured the team title with 102 points. Frank Rivera (24:47) and Robert Fink (24:48) finished seventh and eighth for the Indians.
