Show Parowan 2nd Ward Budget Fair PAROWAN - One of the finest year-end events ever staged in the Parowan Second Ward will be held this Saturday, December 3, in the cultural hall of the First-Second First-Second Ward building: The Ward Budget Fair. What is a budget fair? According to Bishop Glen Halterman it is an opportunity op-portunity for ward members to meet their pledges and obligations to the ward budget "and at the same time have fun and prepare for Christmas." Numerous items, some used and others newly made for the Christmas season, will be on sale at the Fair, which will begin at 7 :00 p.m. Other ward members will be auctioning off services (such as carpentry or landscaping) land-scaping) and second-hand items from around their homes. "Remember: one man's junk is another man's treasure," Bishop Halterman said, urging ward members to take advantage of the opportunity to help -the ward. All ward members are invited and urged to attend, as well as anyone interested in preparing for Christmas in an inexpensive, unique way. Details on the Budget Fair can be obtained from Bishop Halterman, from Frank Mecham, ward budget chairman, or from Relief Society President Andrea Harris. Quorum leaders can also be contacted for information. Items can be brought to the cultural hall anytime after 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. "We know people will be rewarded for attending," Bishop Halterman added. "We feel a great urgency to get out of debt and a great excitement in presenting such a special evening." |
