Show Increased music activity to be made available to high school students Music Clinic at Delta' Apriil 5: Region 8 Music-Solo 5 and Ensemble at Milford. (Three days prior to the State ', meet.) . i Of interest to the music fans in our area is an announcement announce-ment by Superintendant Clair Morris that beginning with the 1971-72 school year, substantial sub-stantial increase will be made in the district's music participation. par-ticipation. Student who receive a superior su-perior rating in the Region Eight Music Ensemble Festival Fest-ival will participate in the State Festival Saturday, April 8, at Viewmont High School. There will be no more than one representative group from each high school from each of the following seven ensembles: ensem-bles: stage hand, brass, woodwind, wood-wind, string, male choral, female choral, and mixed choral. A second change in that large Region Eight Music Festival usually held in May, will be divided into an instrument instru-ment and marching igroup and a vocal group meeting on different dif-ferent days. The Instrumental and Marching Division will be heid May 10th at Dixie High School and the Vocal Division on May 13th, again at Dixie High. Interested citizens will note that this added emphasis on a marching hand should assure us at a better performance perform-ance of the bands at the various vari-ous parades held throughout the year.
