' SUSC library receives volumes Two leather bound volumes vol-umes depicting the history of Delta Kappa Gamma,' international in-ternational honorary organization organ-ization for women educators, have been presented to the Southern Utah State College Library by the Xi Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma. The presentation was made by Ada Carpenter, chapter pres- and newsletters are distributed distribu-ted to the membership to inform in-form them of current economic, econ-omic, social, political, and educational issues. Delta Kappa Gamma Society Soc-iety has state organizations in all of the fifty states and the District of Columbia and the Canadian provinces of Alberta, Eritish - Columbia, Manitoba, New Brunswick, Ontario, and Quebec. Membership Mem-bership of . the society exceeds ex-ceeds more than 105,000 affiliates af-filiates in over 2,100 chapters. chap-ters. Xi Chapter was organized in Cedar City on Nov. 23, 19G8 with 23 members, ident. The organization was founded in Austin, Texas on May 11, 1929 by 12 women educators who wished to unite un-ite women educators of the world in a genuine spiritual fellowship. Purposes of the society also are to honor outstanding women educators educa-tors and to advance the professional pro-fessional interest and position pos-ition of women in education. The group endows scholarships scholar-ships to aid outstanding women wo-men educators in pursuing graduate study and to grant fellowships to women educators educa-tors from other countries. Study courses followed by the organization are designed design-ed to stimulate the personal and professional growth of members and to encourage their participation in appropriate appro-priate , programs of action, according' to Mrs. Carpenter.
