Show Iron County Commissioners authorize road dept. purchases j Iron County Commission wound up 1971 Friday, Dec. 31 with a final meeting of the year in which they awarded contracts for the purchase of two trucks and fuel supplies for the Road Department for 1972. Four bidders participated in providing two trucks for the -load Department and the Commission awarded the contract con-tract on both units to Lunt Motor Co. of Cedar City. The larger truck was bid at $17, 779.52 toy Lunt Motor Co. with bids ranging to a high c $21,114.41. The smaller un for the department was bi at $5,068.18 by Lunt Motor Co with the high bid of $5,836.01 Texaco, Inc. was the low bidder for fuel for the roac department for the, coming year. The bid by the company was for 14.22 cents per gallo: for regular gasoline and 12.7 cents per gallon for dicrc fuel. Two other bidders pai ticipated ranging to a high o. 14.70 cents iper gallon for reg ular gas and 13.87 cents pe ,allon for diesel fuel. In the final session of the j ear for the .commissioners, j they also discussed legislative I .egulations that require the j installation of sprinkling sys- I terns in all rest homes. The ' county rest home located at 'arowan does not have sprink- ling systems, but is protected ' i n other ways including an J wtside exit from each room, I .ommiss-ioners pointed 1 out. Commissioner Ivan Matheson indicated that the legislative ! requirements are currently un- ! der study by the Governor's ! Local Affairs Committee and j the commission tabled action I j to toe taken pending comple- , tion of that committee's study. " j The Commission also heard ' , I a request, submitted by Iron : i County Treasurer, E;jene F. ! Robb, petitioning for pay raises for officers and personnel person-nel of the county. Commission indicated that present funds would not allow . for the proposed increase but. ' that the matter would toe con- ' sidered prior to the adoption of the fiscal budget in May. The Commissioners were also al-so advised of a flood problem north of Kanarraville. They , took the matter under advisement advise-ment and requested, additional addition-al Information of areas of responsibility re-sponsibility in connection with the problem. ) In addition Ralph Piatt, En- ' gineer and the City Recorder were directed to prepare for the commission's consideration considera-tion a proposal for a uniform system of detailing information informa-tion necessary in the application applica-tion of subdivision developments develop-ments within the county. A proposal for a uniform system sys-tem was made to the commission com-mission by Piatt. |
