Show NEWS FROM PARAGONAH Mrs. Hilma Lamoreaux What was to have been a happy family reunion at the Orson Talbot home for the weekend was somewhat saddened sad-dened Saturday when one family group had an accident on the way to Paragonah. Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Mellor and four children of American Ameri-can Fork were driving south when they were rammed from the rear by another vehicle. Mrs. Mellor who was driving was the most seriously injured in-jured and has crushed verte-braes verte-braes in her neck. Ten year old Brad suffered injuries also. al-so. They were taken to Fillmore, Fill-more, about three miles south of the accident and were hospitalized hos-pitalized there for a time. Later Anna and the boy were transferred to the American Fork Hospital. N3il Talbot and sister Judy went to their aid immediately and the Mellor grandparents came to take the younger children to Fayette. Mr. Mellor Mel-lor suffered from shock. Mr. and Mrs. Neil Talbot and their three children of Malta, Mon. arrived here Friday Fri-day to spend a few days with the Orson Talbots, Mr. and Mrs. Justin Fairbanks Fair-banks and family of four arrived ar-rived here Saturday from Thatcher, Ariz, for a weekend visit with the Talbots. Ardell Talbot and his family fam-ily of Washington joined the family members here Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Lamor-eaux Lamor-eaux are proud grandparents again since the arrival of a fine 7 pound 5 ounce boy born June 2nd to Joe and Gaytha Benson of Beaver. Edgar Benson Ben-son of Parowan share grandparent grand-parent honors. There are three big sister in the family. Mr. and Mrs. James H. Anderson An-derson were in St. George Friday to attend the wedding of their granddaughter, June Limib of Beaver and Dennis Marchant of Cedar City. They aLso attended the festivities which accompanied the ceremony, cere-mony, a wedding breakfast at the Homespun in Leeds and the evening reception in Beaver. Bea-ver. Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Ander-son Ander-son and family of Kanab visited vis-ited overnight here Friday A'ith the James II. Andersons nfter being in Beaver for the wedding reception, Marion Englestead has had word of the death of his brother, bro-ther, Clarence Englestead of New Harmony, who passed away Saturday morning in the Valley View Medical Center. Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Robinson Robin-son have received word of the arrival of their 15th greatgrandchild. great-grandchild. A boy was born to Mr. and Mrs. Carl Nelson of Salt Lake City last week. Mr. and Mrs. Mont Poulson arrived home on June 1 after a week in Roosevelt with relatives. rel-atives. While they were there Mrs. Poulson attended a 50 year reunion of her High School graduating class and was one of the guests of honor hon-or at the Union High School Graduation Exercises. The Poulsons brought their granddaughter, Marsha Poulson Poul-son of Duchesne back to Paragonah Par-agonah with thorn to visit for a few weeks with the Milton Poulson family. Of interest to many of the townspeople is the news that Mr. and Mrs. Bob Talbot and daughter Annette of Salt Lake City left for a six weeks trip to Germany on June 6 to see Mrs. Talbots parents. Mr. and Mrs. Donald Burton and family returned to Lay-ton Lay-ton Thursday after a weeks visit here with Mr. and Mrs. Errol Lamoreaux. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Field and three giris of Douglas, Ariz, and Mrs. Nona Harris of Salt Lake City arrived here Sunday following the death of their father, Thomas A. Robinson. Mr. and Mrs. Dale Smith and three 'boys of Sandy returned re-turned to their home Sunday after visiting here for more than a week. They visited with Dale's mother, Mrs. Iras Jones and enjoyed a camping trip with the Warren Smith family of Cedar City. Tom Jones left for Baker, Calif. Wednesday of last week. He has employment there. Mr. and Mrs. Joseph E. Barton Bar-ton and their family traveled to Salt Lake City Saturday to bring Debbie home from college. |
